2002 to 2003 - Business Development for Utah Transit Authority Commuter Rail Project

Initiated contacts and assisted in numerous meetings with each of the City and County planning and zoning entities along the 44-mile Commuter Rail corridor; assisted in several meetings presenting the Commuter Rail Project to community business and political groups.  Designed a business development plan for operating the system in such a way as to contribute to the operation and maintenance budget. 2004 - University Light Rail Post Project Review, Commissioned by UTA

Study was completed using before, during, and after sales tax receipts from corridor businesses, before and after traffic count studies from the Utah Department of Transportation, and interviews with business and property owners conducted by the University of Utah School of Business. The completed study was presented at the 2005 APTA conference, 2005 RailVolution conference, and used as a model in the Phoenix/Tempe Light Rail Project, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Central Corridor Light Rail Project, and most recently for the Kansas City Streetcar Project.

 

2005 to 2008 - Utah Transit Authority 3500 South Bus Rapid Transit Project

Responsibilities included developing presentation materials for the project to be used in discussions with business owners on the proposed project alignment; contacting and arranging meetings with property and business owners for presentations on the project; assisting Salt Lake County and West Valley City officials in presentations to their respective communities; coordinating efforts in acquiring necessary property for station sites. 2005 to 2018- Project Integration Manager for Utah Transit Authority Provo/ Orem Bus Rapid Transit Project

Developed presentation materials and facilitated meetings with Orem and Provo business communities, Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce, Orem and Provo City Councils to establish and gain support for the most effective route for the BRT to connect to the Orem and Provo Front Runner stations. Since the project’s approval by both Cities I have established and oversee two Community Advisory Committees comprised of business and property owners along the project’s alignment serving as overseers and advisors through the design and construction phase of the project. 2008 to 2013 -North Temple/ Airport Trax Project Ombudsman for SLC, SLC Chamber, and Utah Transit Authority

Responsible for organizing and directing the North Temple Community Advisory Committee consisting of businesses and community groups along the project corridor; hold monthly meetings to coordinate the project with the community; direct project marketing funds in an effort to mitigate impacts to businesses and property owners throughout the length of the project; assist Community & Economic Development/RDA in efforts of re-developing the corridor. 2011 to 2014 - 6630 Sugarhouse Streetcar Project Ombudsman for Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake, and Utah Transit Authority: Responsibilities same as North Temple Project above. Project cost: $75M. Contact: Sharen Hauri, Urban Design Director, City of South Salt Lake.

 

2011-2014—South Davis County Transportation Improvement Project for UTA.

In charge of public outreach efforts to survey and document responses of business/property owners along a proposed Bus Rapid Transit corridor; develop and present project information materials to various business groups within the project area; assist in scheduling and facilitating public open houses to inform and receive input from the community. 2011-current—Ogden/WSU Transportation Improvement Study.

Business Community Liaison for the project. Surveyed businesses/property owners along multiple corridors proposed for the project; conducted presentations throughout the community to multiple business and community groups; reported survey results and input from community meetings to the project technical team as well as Ogden City Mayor and City Council.
